چکیده

Wastewater discharges by textile industries constitute a major environmental concern as they exert grave human health dangers. Innovative, cost-effective and economical strategy aimed at ameliorating the effect of effluent in environment is highly desirable. Hence, this study investigated decolorization efficiency selective reactive azo dyes non-adapted Lysinibacillus sphaericus MTCC 9523 optimized operational conditions. Visual color changes with 96.30% 92.71% for Reactive Yellow F3R (RYF3R) Joyfix Red RB (JRRB) elucidated UV-visible spectrophotometric analysis affirmed dyes. Meanwhile, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy metabolites obtained after degradation further revealed functional groups loss peak group indicated breaking bond. On High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analysis, difference control dye’s retention time compared to treated sample peaks 2.413 2.895 min RYF3R 2.466 1.640 supported biodegradation organism. The chemical identities Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) was used prediction each metabolic pathway based on their molecular weight mass-to-charge ratio. They were found be (2Z)-but-2-ene, 1,3,5-triazine, (3E)-penta-1,3-diene (methylsulfonyl)benzene, phenol, buta-1,3-diene, 1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1 H ,3 )-dione, nitrobenzene JRRB. Biodegradation of textile azo-dyes byPhanerochaete chrysosporium.

Of 18 commercially used textile dyes, eight were degraded by the white rot fungus,Phanerochaete chrysosporium, by 40 to 73% based on decrease of colour. Both the lignin-degrading enzyme system ofP. chrysosporium and adsorption to its cell mass were involved in the degradation of the diazo dye, Reactofix Gold Yellow. Degradation was best achieved by adding the dye to the medium and then inoculat...

Biodecolorization of textile azo dye using Bacillus sp. strain CH12 isolated from alkaline lake

Textile azo dye decolorizing bacteria were isolated from alkaline Lakes Abaya and Chamo using Reactive Red 239 (RR239) dye. Through subsequent screening process, strain CH12 was selected to investigate the effects of nutrient supplement, DO, pH, temperature, dye concentration and types on decolorization. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain CH12 was identified as Bacillus sp. Decolo...

Photocatalytic Degradation of Textile Dyes Using Ozonation and Magnetic Nickel Ferrite Nanoparticle

Dye photodegradation using ozone and Nickel ferrite nanoparticle (NFN) as a photocatalyst was studied. The catalyst was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, SEM and XRD. Textile dyes including Remazol Red RB (RRRB) and Direct Green B (DGB) were degraded as model compounds. Dye degradation was investigated using UV–Vis and ion chromatography (IC) analyses. The effect of catalyst dosage, pH, s...

Biodegradation of bioaccessible textile azo dyes by Phanerochaete chrysosporium.

Azo dyes are important chemical pollutants of industrial origin. Textile azo dyes with bioaccessible groups for lignin degrading fungi, such as 2-methoxyphenol (guaiacol) and 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (syringol), were synthesised using different aminobenzoic and aminosulphonic acids as diazo components. The inocula of the best biodegradation assays were obtained from a pre-growth medium (PAM), contai...
